This project started as a challenge to explore soft body dynamics in Cinema 4D. I searched for different uses of soft body dynamics, I found myself looking at rope/string dynamics which reminded me of the string figures we used to play with when we were kids. Right away, I then sourced a sneaker model and began to look into how to bring it to life. There was a lot of trial and error, but I truly enjoyed working on this.
